The Climate Smart Agriculture MSP County Roll Out
The Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Multi Stakeholder Platform has kicked off a vigorous exercise to support counties in establishing county-based CSA MSPs. In a series of ongoing engagements, the platform has already visited eleven counties where the role of MSP and the importance of county MSPs were emphasized. The engagements were aimed at empowering agriculture stakeholders to successfully establish county outfits and the modalities of ensuring that the established MSPs are sustainable.
The county-based CSA MSPs are crucial in ensuring stakeholders’ coordination in mainstreaming CSA actions as a means towards climate change adaptation and attainment of food and nutrition security. They are also meant to promote inclusivity and collective decision-making in the agriculture and climate sectors.
The counties where the meetings were undertaken are Busia, Siaya, Nakuru, Kitui, Nyandarua, Meru, Bomet, Makueni, Tharaka Nithi, Narok and Machakos.
